The VAL Community Garden, otherwise known as the Dutchtown Community Garden, is located between Virginia Avenue, Alabama Avenue, and Liberty Street in Dutchtown. The garden has several raised beds available for personal and communal use. Another portion of the garden is dedicated to providing fresh produce to the St. Anthony Food Pantry.

Support Dutchtown’s Community Garden
The VAL Garden needs your help to keep things running! Your donation helps pay for needs such as:
- Stocking the soil and mulch corrals
- Providing starter seeds and plants for gardeners
- Keeping the adjacent large lot on Virginia mowed
- Maintaining garden beds and tools (hoses, lawn mowers, etc.)
How You Can Get Involved
Garden With Us
Garden beds are assigned at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition to individual beds, VAL features select communal garden beds and part of the perimeter wall for anyone to maintain or harvest from. For more information about volunteering or reserving a bed, contact Dona Coleman at donacoleman@sbcglobal.net or 314-960-8846 or Dallas Adams at dallasnicoleadams@gmail.com or 901-216-3737.
Harvest With Us
The VAL Garden’s communal and wall perimeter beds are for everyone to enjoy! Each season, the garden grows fruits, vegetables, and flowers in specially marked beds. Stop by and pick some fresh produce and flowers anytime – even if you aren’t gardening with us this season! We also encourage people to check out our blessing box which is filled with non-perishable food and other household needs.
