Common Sound Festival returns to Marquette Park for a third year on Saturday, October 5th! The festival, produced by Dutchtown South Community Corporation, brings neighbors together with dance, music, food, and lots of fun.
This year’s featured musical performer is St. Boogie Brass Band, playing two sets of New Orleans-style funk and soul at 2pm and 3:45pm. DJ Prospect and DJ Smitty will be spinning tunes throughout the rest of the day.
Check out dance performances by Leverage Dance Theater, MoSTLy Tap, and Spirit of Angela West African Dance and Drum. Or learn some moves of your own with dance workshops including breakdancing and capoeira.
Enjoy food from Mount Pleasant’s own Sol Azteca, Heavenly Sinful Delights, Indian Sunshine Cuisine, and the Juice Bar Truck. 4 Hands beer, soda, and water will also be available for sale.
Several vendors will be selling jewelry, art, crafts, and more. And a number of local organizations will be on hand to provide resources and educate neighbors about their programs.
Come get down with hundreds of your neighbors on Compton Avenue this Saturday, October 5th, from 1pm to 6pm. Everyone is welcome!
