February 1st is International Gruit Day, a worldwide celebration of hopless beers, and Earthbound Beer is celebrating with Sahti Fest!
Originally brewed in the middle ages, gruits were bittered with a variety of bittering herbs including yarrow, mugwort and juniper. Sahti is a traditional Finnish beer where the wort is lautered through juniper branches to provide bitterness and aroma.
