Dutchtown South Community Corporation‘s Community Empowerment Committee meets at the Thomas Dunn Learning Center on the last Wednesday of the month. The CEC implements the programs of our organization and addresses issues in the neighborhood through their own program ideas.

Vontriece McDowell, Director of Community Based Interventions for Alive and Well Communities, will be teaching us how to do equitable and inclusive community engagement. Residents will learn key engagement terms/terminology, the potential challenges that they will face when trying to engage residents, and best practices that have worked for the presenter and that they can potentially use for their engagement strategy.

DSCC Executive Director Amanda Colón-Smith will be our facilitator to discuss DSCC’s strategy for the coming three years and next steps for addressing affordable housing and tenant rights in our community.
